    *Lie Angle

Lie Angle manipulates the turf interaction with the sole of the club.  A lie that is too upright will lead to shots missed to the left and inconsistent ball striking.  A lie that is too flat will lead to shots missed to the right with inconsistent ball striking as well.  It is best to have the turf interaction in the middle of the sole for optimal results.

    *Loft Angle

Loft Angle can help manipulate distance as well as ball flight. A stronger loft angle will promote a lower ball flight and longer distance, while a weaker loft angle with launch the ball higher and shorter than a standard set up.

    Shaft Length

Length is taken off of the grip end of the shaft and can be altered based on standard specifications. This alteration has no impact on the overall playability of the shaft.

For most iron models, manufacturers offer lighter weight heads which can be used to keep the swingweight to a standard balance for club lengths up to +1/2″ longer. Anything longer than that and the swingweight will increase above the recommended balance. (As a rough calculation, every extra 1/2″ in length will increase the swingweight by 3 balance points).

    Shaft Stepping

Shaft stepping is used when optimal shaft configuration is between flexes. Hard stepping moves the bend point of the shaft to a position where the club feels stiffer, launches lower, and spins less. Soft stepped shafts promote a higher ball flight, more spin, and softer feel.

All wedges can only be soft stepped. Hard stepping is not possible.

The SST PURE Service analyzes the structure of any golf shaft and identifies its most stable plane under load. When assembled in this SST PUREd® orientation, the result is improved consistency in both distance and accuracy from club to club.

*SST PURE upcharge is per selected club(s). PUREing is done in our Custom Shop adds an additional 3-5 days to your order.

    *Grip Wraps

Adding additional grip wraps helps to make the grip feel and play larger. This option is used when the best fit for a grip is in between sizes. In general, four wraps of tape is the equivalent to moving to the next size larger grip. Some golfers prefer the tape method of increasing grip size because it decreases the amount of taper felt on the lower hand when gripping the club.

BIG-TIME BETTER

We all want to play better golf. But what even is better golf, exactly?

Around here, it’s the feeling of standing over your ball knowing something big could happen. Or something better than big. That’s the thinking behind HALO XL Full-Face Irons, at least. Bigger is better.

Get out there and play your game. It only gets better from here.

MAINFRAME FACE

Using a multi-step AI computing process, we simulated thousands of the most common strikes across the club face, emphasized the impact locations, and evaluated the performance characteristics.

Then, based on our findings, we created a variable thickness face design that enlarged and reshaped the sweet spot for boosted ball speeds across the entire striking area. Inside the clubhead, AI helped us figure out the best location for placement of unique weight pads for maximum forgiveness.

FULL-FACE GROOVES

For the first time ever in an Iron, HALO XL features full-face grooves, so you can step up, swing, and send it with serious spin on every shot. This hosel-to-toe groove configuration performs no matter where you strike the ball. Plus, HALO XL Full-Face features a striking area that’s up to 20 percent larger than last generation.

ALIGNMENT LINES

HALO XL Full-Face features a new, two-groove alignment system for reliable, consistent aim. Two thicker, white grooves on the bottom of the face help you keep the face square at address, centered behind the ball, and in-line with your target. The shorter, lower groove promotes proper ball position alignment, while the longer groove above it helps align your clubhead to your target.

HYDRAZIP

HydraZip for HALO XL Irons uses a dynamic blast system designed to maximize spin in wet or dry conditions, and from anywhere around the green. This proprietary spin technology ensures consistent performance in all conditions and from any lie.

In lower lofts (4i–7i), we use a rougher face blast to minimize excess spin for improved carry distances. Meanwhile, high-lofted clubs (8i–SW) receive a slightly smoother blast, to promote better spin consistency.

XL HEAD DESIGN

A larger, Hybrid-Iron profile allows us to shift more mass away from HALO XL’s center. That’s how we upped the MOI and put the Center of Gravity exactly where we want it. Out on the course, that gives you an XL amount of forgiveness, a high-launching ball flight, and straighter shots.

THREE SOLE TRANSITION

HALO XL uses a three-sole system designed to fit the differing long-, mid-, and short-Iron swings. Long Irons (4i–7i) feature GlideRail soles, which improve turf interaction and promote solid contact on sweeping swings. Short Irons (8i–9i) feature V-Shaped soles, designed to cut through turf so you can hit down on the ball without digging. And Wedges (PW–SW) feature Three-Tiered Soles for maximum forgiveness on pitches, chips, and bunker shots.

ACTION MASS CB

Action Mass CB places an 8-gram counterweight in the end of the shaft near the very top of your grip. The feel of added weight in your hands helps the club seem lighter, promoting a more stable, controlled backswing. It also helps promote a more inside swing path, squarer club face through impact, and, ultimately, straighter shots.
